We don’t provide charity. We engineer transformation for justice-impacted lives through a tactical framework of spiritual, mental, and financial growth.
Show N Prove did not begin with a name.
It began with a connection that refused to let go.
In September of 2002, Ricardo Porter and his wife, Kia Porter, crossed paths in a way that would change the course of both of their lives. What started as a meeting became a bond, and over time, that bond became something steady, something tested, something real.
Their love was not built in ease. It was built in distance, in patience, in moments that required faith when there was no guarantee of what tomorrow would look like. And still, she stayed.
Kia did not love him for where he was.
She loved him for who he was becoming.
Through every year, every challenge, every moment that could have caused things to fall apart, she remained. Not loudly. Not for recognition. But with a quiet strength that never wavered.
And Ricardo, in return, chose growth. He chose accountability. He chose to become a better man, not only because of his circumstances, but in spite of them.
What they built together was not fragile.
It was formed in truth. Strengthened by time. Carried by purpose.
And from that, Show N Prove was born.
Not just as an idea, but as a reflection of their journey, a belief that change is not something you speak about, it is something you live out, day by day.
It is about becoming before being seen.
Growing before being given another chance.
Standing on who you are, even when no one is watching.
At the center of it all is love.
The kind that stays.
The kind that builds.
The kind that sees beyond the moment and holds on to what is possible.
Their story is not just about endurance.
It is about transformation.
And now, what they created together is meant to reach beyond them, to remind others that even in the hardest places, growth is still possible, purpose is still waiting, and who you become is still yours to prove

We value the hard truth over the comfortable lie. Growth requires a clear audit of the current state.
If it cannot be proven, it has not happened. We track every graduate success through data.
We are a coalition. The success of one operative is the success of the entire infrastructure.
Your execution supports the machinery of transformation. Partner with the coalition and help rebuild the narrative.
Show N Prove is a prison reform organization working at the point where policy meets people. Most research on incarceration is written about those inside the system. Our work starts from the opposite direction: what actually helps someone prepare for release, come home, and stay home.
That focus is deliberate. Bureau of Justice Statistics data shows that 66% of people released from state prisons are rearrested within three years, and that risk peaks in the first year (Bureau of Justice Statistics). The window where support matters most is the one the system invests in least.
Every statistic we publish is linked to a primary source — the Bureau of Justice Statistics, the Federal Bureau of Prisons, RAND Corporation or the Prison Policy Initiative — with the year stated so readers can verify it. Where evidence is contested or methodologically limited, we say so rather than quoting the most convenient number.
